Couples

I help couples with relationship issues, marital breakdown, and fertility issues.

I’m an English-native speaker providing couples counselling in Luxembourg. My approach draws on a proven system called Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples (“EFT”).

Ninety percent (90%) of couples who go through EFT significantly improve their relationship.

What is EFT? Emotionally Focused Therapy is a structured, evidence-based approach developed by Dr. Sue Johnson. EFT helps couples understand and transform their emotional responses, creating deeper connections and more secure relationships. The goal is to create a more secure bond between partners.

What issues can couples counselling help with? EFT is particularly effective for couples experiencing communications difficulties, trust issues, feelings of emotional disconnect, conflict and recurring arguments, recovery from infidelity and life transitions and adjustments.

English is my first language. I have lived in 4 countries and worked with couples from all around the world.

How does it work? Couples learn to express deeper, more vulnerable emotions safely, share needs and fears, respond to each other with greater empathy, and create new relationship dynamics, in order to develop solutions to problems from a more engaged and emotionally connected place. The EFT process looks at identifying negative interaction patterns and how they create disconnection. It helps couples to recognise underlying emotions that drive cycles of reacitivity in the relationship, and how to change these negative cycles to move instead into a secure and loving relationship.

All sessions are 80 mins which gives us time needed to build awareness of emotional patterns, create safety for vulnerability, restructure interactions, and ultimately move to strengthening the bond between partners.

What’s the research on this method? EFT helps couples to build a secure bond, and create lasting change by addressing emotional patterns on a deeper level, in order to have a more satisfying, secure and loving relationship. The research basis of this therapy incorporates attachment theory, the neuroscience of emotional bonding, and modern trauma theory.
